I'm Ryan, we've probably met, as I don't think I'm that "web-popular" anymore. You have to make music, draw cartoons, sell porn, or create flash animations of a peaceful scene followed by a loud noise and flashing colors to keep people interested in you on the internet, and that's all simply too much work.

But, in case you're new here, I'll give you the nickel tour.

I have a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from The University of Illinois, with a minor in Computer Science. I currently attend The University of Southern California, and I am working on an M.S. in Electrical Engineering. My focus is on Digital Satellite Communications.

Besides the usual college student hobbies like "music" and "videogames", I also leap from planes on a more or less weekly basis. And yes, to round out the cliche, these are planes considered to be "perfectly good." For me, there's absolutely nothing better to take my mind off of things for a weekend than skydiving. There's always more to learn, and just about everyone I've met doing it has been awesome. It's hard to ask more from a hobby.

The Website
This is the forth or so rendition of this website. The driving force behind which has always been the movement to a new host that provides new functionality or performance. This is the first of the four that has been written from the ground up in essentially one session with an end product in mind. The others were either not script driven, or the scripts they ran on were added as somewhat of an afterthought. As you may have guessed, that means this site is considerably less troublesome for me to work with. It's taken on a couple names including "Shades of Gray" and "Ryan's Webpage of Nothingness", but now I don't really think of it as having a name, just "chaz720.net" really.

The site runs via Linux, Apache, PHP, and MySQL (along with about half the rest of the internet.) I've coded it using a bevy of different text editors, from vi to EditPlus, usually whatever is laying around on the machine I happen to be at.

My policy regarding compatibility is pretty simple, I agree not to do any crazy tricks with html or CSS anywhere, and you agree not to use a browser that sucks. But if you still think there's something wrong with the way your browser is displaying the page and feel it's something I'm doing incorrectly, drop me a line using the contact link in the lower right.
