All I need is a little time, to get behind this sun and cast my weight. All I need is a peace of this mind, then I can celebrate. All in all there's something to give. All in all there's something to do. All in all there's something to live, with you. All I need is a little sign, to get behind this sun and cast this weight of mine. All I need is the place to find, and there I'll celebrate. All in all there's something to give. All in all there's something to do. All in all there's something to live, with you.
Most of the songs I listen to take me places. The music I choose lets me relax while I'm in my car on the highway, or daydream my way to somewhere or something beautiful. This song takes me to the foot of the mountains, cirrus clouds stretching through the sky, and the sun setting on the ocean in the distance while the waves break and the cool sea breeze blows past my ears creating that wonderful sound only the wind blowing past your ears can make.

Given, this beautiful place is only a mile or so from here, but now I have it on CD.

I'll make a deal with you regarding my discussion of work here, and you're going to have to like it. You go on speculating that what I do is as cool and interesting as my field gets, and regardless of whether it actually is, I'll go on not actually saying anything about it because I couldn't even if I wanted to. I consider the matter now closed.

Leandra and Eric's visit was a lot of fun. We visited some of the piers around the area, went hiking up by Malibu, visted Santa Monica, toured through Palos Verdes down to San Pedro, visted the USC area and the museums nearby (including the body world exibit), and wandered around UCLA and the botanical gardens within. Along the way we got to enjoy our rations of the olympic games, and I learned how to cook a few things as well.

I spent most of this last weekend skydiving. Saturday I jumped aboard the excel camp which is a similar kinda "fun jumping but with feedback from people that are good so as you actually learn something" that I used to see a lot of back at Archway. Sunday I spent freeflying which was also fun, I'm at the point now where I can fly to pretty much to anywhere I want to be in my sit, as well as perform cartwheels, 360s, and flips with a reasonable amount of control. The finer points of docking manuvers to come next.

Whenever I'm spotted changing from my RW suit to my "freak clothes" I catch a decent amount of joking flak from the people I jump with because it's not very common to do an appreciable amount of both RW and freeflying every weekend. To me it's the best way to meet as many people as possible, and that's really my main goal.

This weekend there's an SSL meet at Elsinore, which means the dropzone is going to be overrun by RW teams most of the weekend. So I've decided to take a weekend off, and head up to San Francisco. I figure I'll get to see that area and give David a welcoming visit as he too recently made his way to the left coast. I haven't driven any long distances in a while... kinda feels like I'm due.
