Why, I wonder, is my heart full of holes? And the feeling goes but my hair keeps growing. Will I set the sun on a big-wheeled wagon? I'm bragging, "I'm always in love." When I let go of your throat-sweet throttle. When I clean the lash of your black-belt model. Will I catch the moon like a bird in a cage? It's for you I swoon, I'm always in love. I don't get the connection. If this is only a test, I hope I do my best. You know I wont forget. When I fold the cold in my jet-lag palm. When I soak so long I forget my mother. Will I set the sun on a big-wheeled wagon? I'm bragging, "I'm always in love." It's a drag I sang, "I'm always in love." I'm worried, I'm always in love.
The trip up to San Jose to drop in on David was fun. Driving around San Francisco is completely bat-shit fucking loco. How anyone could look at this piece of land and say, "You know what, this ridiculous mess of mountains on a skinny peninsula would make a perfect place to build a giant city." is beyond me. The drive up I-5 through the central valley at night is painfully boring. When Marty told me, "There is no such thing as Central California" I didn't realize just how serious he was until now.

Yep, the trip went pretty much without a hitch. Except when I got back Monday morning I realized that the scraps from the chickens I had cut up Friday evening were still sitting in the garbage can in the kitchen. Although "realized" is quite the euphemism, the odor assaulted me upon entering the apartment. Let's just say there are lessons you learn the hard way, and beyond that there are lessons you learn via your sense of smell.

A couple more people on the visiting roster.

Lauren is coming to visit next weekend. The only planned event so far is the USC vs ASU football game on Saturday which oughta be fun. Other than that, a bunch of wandering around enjoying the fact that it's still 70º here all the time sounds exciting to me.

Hans is going to be here for Halloween. The poor bastard is going to make his first (BEER!) tandem skydive while he's here. Again, wandering around enjoying SoCal will account for the remainder of his stay, then he's heading up to San Jose to annoy David as well.

I made 20 skydives in the last two weekends. The weekend before last was a freefly skills camp put on by Elsinore Eclipse. I learned a lot, jumping with very talented people. They were able to correct a few bad habits, and at the very least make me aware of the others. :P

Right now I'm looking forward to the Chicks Rock boogie which is the 22nd-24th. Lots of planes, lots of skydiving, lots of chicks, lots of partying. Whoever said, "everything in moderation" can go pound sand for a weekend.
